Ravin LR
Most crossbows are designed around the 40-yard shot. The LR is designed around the shooter who finds that boring. Short for long range, it is Ravin’s answer to the modern precision-rifle mindset applied to a crossbow, and the headline numbers back the ambition: 450 feet per second with a 400-grain arrow, 180 foot-pounds of kinetic energy, and a platform the company describes as accurate at distances up to 135 yards.
To keep all of that shootable, the LR borrows its posture from long-range rifles rather than from its crossbow siblings. The profile is deliberately longer, 34 inches, which shifts weight forward for better balance and tames recoil, and both the cheek comb and the stock adjust to fit the shooter properly. A full-length Picatinny rail runs along the top for mounting whatever else your setup demands. At 8.10 pounds it is the heavy rifle of the Ravin range, and it wears the weight like one.
The included optic is the piece that ties the concept together: a 1-8×24 adjustable turret scope, the sort of glass you would expect to see on a precision rifle, plus a scope level to keep cant out of the equation at distance. That combination, along with the silent cocking system and the HeliCoil cams that rotate 340 degrees in perfect balance, is what lets the LR hold groups at ranges where most crossbows have already surrendered.
Out of the box the LR arrives fully assembled and hunt-ready, with the scope, the level, a three-arrow quiver with mounting bracket, the removable draw handle, three Ravin .001 premium arrows with field points at 400 grains total, and Ravin’s premium arrow rest. Cocking effort remains the civilized 12 pounds, and the anti-dry fire with automatic safety is standard.
549.99 on the official store, the LR is priced like the specialist tool it is. For hunters who practice at distance and want a crossbow that rewards it, nothing else in the Ravin lineup is built with the same intention.
